The first Nubian model to grace Double Take Magazine is none other than the lovely Ms. Amanda, also known by the nickname Bird. She first became an affiliate of the DTM staff back in 2006 during our development stages. Initially, our modeling sector was supposed to be a separate entity from DTM. At this time, several photo shoots with Ms. Bird were conducted. Before the pictures could be released, expanding our repertoire with numerous other models became the first priority. However, they were never revealed to the public due to difficulties in contractual agreements with follow-up models. But it is not like Ms. Bird is an amateur of some sort. She has received a large amount of opportunities from other various modeling agencies. So it was definitely an honorary pleasure in working with her.
As a St. Louis native, Ms. Bird is a very down-to-earth individual. Business-minded and independently driven, she has a knack for being dead-line oriented with any objective requiring the implementation of focus – whether it is modeling, being a spokeswoman for a medium, and/or an active participant in positive functions pertaining to the Hip Hop community. Unfortunately, her myspace page is no longer existent. However, DTM does have a way of contacting her. Since we are sincere supporters of her career, if any businesses have any work for Ms. Bird regarding modeling and/or TV personality jobs, don’t be hesitant to send us an inquiry at

. Ms. Amanda AKA Bird is the paradigm we would like to set for the future models of DTM. Even though it is often said the primary focus of this publication is shedding positive light on Black males in America; we cherish and praise our African-American Sisters equivocally. Only respectfully do we exhibit the remarkable beauty of them through our lens. -DTM
