When I first meet Ms. Iminah Ahmad, I was greeted with a young lady who was rockin rollers and ”Juicy” sweatpants. Don’t ask me why I read that, but I was taken aback by her vivacious personality. When she was finally ready, she was a joy to work with.
Iminah was born in Oakland to a family with 21 brothers and sisters from Jamaica to California. Amongst her siblings, the Rastafarian princess was the first to graduate from college. She attended the HBCU Spellman and graduated with a degree in Political Science at the age of 21. Currently she works as manager at a leading IT company in Atlanta. She aspires to become a TV personality. I can see that, she has been heavily involved with the movers and shakers here in Atlanta.
Another interesting fact about Iminah is that the girl can cook! For an “independent woman” that is a rare trait. I ate a couple of her dishes and she needs to setup shop and start charging niggaz! Speaking of independent, fellas, yes she’s single…but happily single I might add. She feels the current climate of black relationships has been a bit disappointing. But she admires men with a “boss” mentality. She was raised with an afrocentric / Rastafarian view on the world and religion. She tries to study other religions such as Islam and Christianity. Right now she’s Baptist and attends church regularly.
What got her into modeling was to pay homage to her mother and aunt. Iminah mentioned that both were beautiful, but her aunt was more into glamour and fashion and ultimately followed her tastes. She sees modeling as another avenue to other opportunities. But it was truly a pleasure to work with Ms. Ahmad. She is very creative and personable.
